Greetings November Citizens

When you donate ten dollars or more to Clarkesworld Magazine, you become a citizen of Clarkesworld and get your name listed in a special Census appendix of our annual anthologies. The higher your donation, the more perks you get. This includes things like copies of the magazine, trade paperbacks or becoming an overlord (good or evil, you choose).

Immigration data for November is in and it was one of our best months ever. Welcome Citizens!

I spent a chunk of  today packing up the gift packages for the new Burgermeisters, Royalty and Overlords:

Now I just need to print up all the postage…

Give the Gift of Citizenship this Holiday Season

Stumped for a holiday gift this year? Why not consider the gift of Clarkesworld citizenship? With your donation of $10 or more to Clarkesworld Magazine, you are entitled to place someone’s name (if not your own) on our official census list. Our census list is published as a special appendix in each volume of Realms, the annual Clarkesworld print anthology.

Want to have more fun? Set yourself up as a Bürgermeister, Royalty or an Overlord and then add your friends/family/enemies as minions in your service. Mix and match. Have some fun. We’ll even list them as your minions online and in print. Want to be more creative than we’ve allowed? Email us.

All donations received this holiday season will be put towards our annual fiction budget. We count on this support to be able to continue to offer you free fiction. Your support means a lot to us.

Clarkesworld Citizenship Drive and Census – Update

The Clarkesworld Magazine Citizenship Drive was launched last week and I’d like to thank everyone who has shown their support with a donation. When I launched this fundraising program, I intended to let people build up their own empires and recognize specific Clarkesworld authors. This past weekend, I wrote up a system to help make that possible.

If you visit our Census Page, you can become an Overlord’s minion, a subject of a Royal’s court, move to a Burgermeister’s town, or become a follower of one of our authors in the Clarkesworld Pantheon. If you have previously donated at the Overlord, Royalty, or Burgermeister levels, there is a link for people to join (or become competitors to) your town, realm or domain. If we’ve published a story by you, fans can colonize Clarkesworld and choose you as their household diety. Steal the links. Spread the word. Build your empire!

Want to start your own domain, realm, or town and collect your own subjects? You can do that too.

Realms is Available and the Clarkesworld Census

Yesterday, I finished shipping all the preordered (and paid for) copies of REALMS: THE FIRST YEAR OF CLARKESWORLD MAGAZINE (trade paperback and hardcover). Amazon, Powells, and other dealers should have their copies in the next week or so, but the best way to support Clarkesworld is to order direct from us at Wyrm Publishing. Every penny we make from this book goes towards paying for the fiction and non-fiction published by Clarkesworld.

Don’t want the book, but still want to help out? Well, we have a list of things that can you can do, some of which cost you absolutely nothing.

We’re also trying something new this year: the Clarkesworld Census. Basically, anyone who donates $10 or more becomes a citizen of Clarkesworld. The second volume of Realms will contain a census that lists the names (or appropriate aliases) of each citizen. So, $10 and you’re in the book… unless you don’t want to be. 🙂
