|First off, I have to give some credit where credit is due. All three designs were prepared by Mary Robinette Kowal. Mary is a pleasure to work with and if you ever need someone to do cover design, I highly recommend her. Her efforts, combined with Rolando Cyril’s beautiful art, have produced a cover I’m quite proud to have. I also have to thank Sean Wallace (on of our editors) for all of his advice and assistance.
The three covers in the poll were presented in chronological order and represent a sampling of our favorites. During the 24 hour period prior to the poll, there was a lot of discussion about color, framing, fonts, and such. I have to admit to being a bit of a troublemaker. As reflected in the poll, there was a lot of support for cover #1. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past the portal-effect the framing had on the art I had selected, so we pressed onward.
Happily, the poll-winning cover was the same one I selected. It was a close race and I understand the reasons people picked the other two covers. After all, there is a reason they made the final three. In the end, all three of us agreed. I think that might have been the first time we all had the same favorite version. 🙂
REALMS is now available for preorder at the Wyrm Publishing website and should be listed at Amazon and (hopefully) other bookstores within the next few weeks.
In appreciation for all the input I received, for the next week, I’m running a special 30% off promotion on preorders for this book.

If all goes as planned, the first Clarkesworld Magazine Anthology (Realms) will be completed in time for this year’s World Fantasy Convention. Here is the art we’ll be using for the cover:
Save Our Souls by Rolando Cyril.
|Next month’s issue of Clarkesworld Magazine will feature this cover art by Natalia Nesterova. I came across THE TRUTH while browsing through deviantART sometime last month.

Now I need to get back to work on the cover art for the three Wyrm projects we’ve announced. Realms, the annual Clarkesworld Magazine anthology, should have a cover very soon. Just waiting to hear back from the artist before I post anything.
|With all the problems in March, the art for the magazine was the last thing on my mind. I had an artist in mind for April, but I never heard back from him. Perhaps some other time. Fortunately, I have a nice list of art that I wanted for future issues, so I just moved one up. April’s art is by Natalie Shau, who has to her credits the cover of Fantasy Magazine #4.|
