My Brother’s Wedding

If you haven’t heard much from me lately, it’s because of my brother’s wedding last Friday. It couldn’t have been a better day. The weather was amazing (especially for November) and everything went off without a hitch. My two sons were the ring bearers and despite running down the aisle during all the rehearsals, they were perfect when the time came. Great ceremony and a reception that we wish could have gone on for days. The boys spent most of the night dancing and I managed to get through my toast with a minor degree of discomfort.

Don’t these look like some happy people?

  1. That picture of your boys is awesome. Congrats to your brother.

    • Yeah, that’s my favorite picture from the lot my sister just gave me. It sums those two up so nicely.

      • I’ve been watching entire movie series my son hasn’t seen back-to-back with him. A couple weekends ago, it was all the Alien movies, this weekend was the Terminators.

        • Nothing like blood and guts to bring a family together! We’ve been taking in the original Ultraman series on DVD. It has the right level of B&G for a 3 and 6 year old.

          • Those are good–I watched a lot of Godzilla movies with Max when he was that age. As he’s fourteen, now, I think he’s more than ready for mayhem, Ahnold-style.

  2. Wow, who ever thought your brother would actually be responsible enough to get married? (Or am I totally misremembering how he used to be?)

    • 🙂 Yeah, he’s come a long way since then. He was never someone I would have thought unable to settle down someday. All that time passing helped him find someone very good for him. They’ve been through a lot together in the last year (mainly the fire and related stuff) and it’s clear that they are a perfect match for one another.
