I’d hate to see another small press close down.

If the rumor mill is to be believed, Meisha Merlin is closing down.  It’s coming from enough sources now that it makes me think it might be true.  Can anyone confirm this?

    I’d think anyone who might confirm it would have been discouraged from doing so before any official announcement from MM itself. If such an announcement was going to be forthcoming.

  3. I’ve heard the rumors, and specific mentions from a couple of its disgruntled authors (who are owed money, for one thing, and/or are upset at various levels of the book process with MM).

    • Still…

      I have to make sure I mention that I will forever be indebted to Stephe Pagel, who was a mentor back in the days when I was thinking about getting Fairwood Press off the ground.

      • I remain grateful to MM for bringing back into print several authors who were favorites of mine. It’s a shame that things turned sour.
