Crash and Boom at Clarkesworld

Just in case anyone was wondering, our web site and email have been down for the last two days. Don’t have all the details on what happened, but it looks like they are making progress on restoring the system. At least we have a home page again instead of that weird flash file they stuck in it’s place. Just waiting on the rest of the site and my email address.

Unfortunately, no orders will ship until this is fixed.

  1. Ow. :: bad words ::

    That’s, um, non-optimal.

  2. Yes, I was wondering what was going on. I hope you didn’t lost anything irretrievably, and everything gets straightened out soon.

    • So far the only thing I haven’t been able to check is the email. Can’t log in yet, but I have ways of checking on the status of the site’s data and that looks good. The shopping cart data is managed by a third party site, so all the customer data is safe.

      What I’m losing at this point is money.

  3. Let me guess are you servers in FL? Mine went down right after the Hurricane so we didnt’ have email for a few days

    • Actually, they are in CA. Someone hacked their system and brought all their clients down. I should have more details today when the system administrator calls to let me know the new passwords for all our accounts.
