Cover art for the next issue

Clarkesworld Magazine‘s thirteenth issue is right around the corner. We’ll have stories by Lisa Mantchev and Kristen Mandigma, but right now I want to focus on the cover art by Naomi Chen.

I’ve worked in education for many years. For about 10 of those, my office was down the hall from the art department. I’ve seen a lot of student art, so I was completely blown away when I found out that Naomi is a college freshman.  I’m impressed.

    I discovered the artist’s deviant art page and have been a fan ever since. This picture in particular is wonderfully menacing.

    As someone else has already beat me to saying, Clarkesworld has some of the best covers I have ever seen.
