This list is based on books shipped from Clarkesworld Books between January 1st, 2005 and December 31st, 2005. Magazines sales include back issue sales, which actually make up the majority of the numbers sold.
Night of Knives and Fantasy & Science Fiction Magazine were runaway winners in their categories. NoK’s place is impressive. It’s a limited edition UK import and our sales account for over 20% of the print run. NoK is a story set in the Malaz world commonly featured in Steven Erikson’s books. Not surprisingly, Steven was our bestselling author with three titles in the top ten. Horror author, Brian Keene took 2nd place with two titles in the top ten and several in the top 20.
Authors that just missed the top ten include: Thomas Ligotti, Charles de Lint, Terry Goodkind, Robin Hobb, John Crowley, and Connie Willis. There were no ties in the top ten, but several in the top twenty.
As I continue to go through the numbers, I may post some more stats… assuming people are interested in any of this. 🙂
